Meet Chris

Chris Fields is a community organizer, scholar of political economy and author of Policy, Wealth & Politics and Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate (NJ), bringing nearly a decade of experience within New Jersey’s political and civic institutions while remaining focused on the material realities facing working families.

Chris began his work in politics as a grassroots field organizer and later served as a campaign manager on critical New Jersey races. These roles gave him firsthand experience with how campaigns, institutions, and party structures function in practice, and where they fail to deliver for the people they claim to represent.

Beyond campaigns, Chris has served on the executive board of the Hunterdon County Democratic Committee and as Vice Chair of the Readington Democratic Committee. These positions provided direct exposure to local governance, party decision-making, and the procedural barriers that often prevent real accountability and meaningful participation.

Chris graduated from Rutgers University with a double major in Economics and Political Science. His academic background informs a material, systems-based approach to policy, focused on how decisions about housing, healthcare, wages, and public resources actually shape people’s lives.

In addition to his political work, Chris is actively engaged in community-based service. As Director of Communications for North Reform Church’s Beacon on Broad Street Initiative, he works alongside organizers and volunteers addressing food insecurity, housing instability, and other urgent needs in the community.

Chris Fields is running for U.S. Senate to fight for quality housing people can afford, universal healthcare, and wages people can live on. His campaign is rooted in the belief that politics should deliver tangible results, not symbolism. It's time to fight back for ordinary people and working families so our economy and politics serve the many, not the wealthy few.
